I’m not an engineer.
Rather than building something with perfect precision,
I believe my work is to shape it into something comfortable and beautiful.
In Japan, there is an ancient belief that anything brought to perfection will eventually decline.
The “Upside-Down Pillar” at Nikko Toshogu Shrine is a symbol of this.
For me, words like “perfect” and “complete” feel too grand to claim.
Yet I will never stop striving toward them.
This is why I choose to write Mt. Hill as Mt.hill.
I will always remain unfinished.
